Cocktail reception

Cocktail reception
in Brussels.

Cold and warm canapés, savoury and sweet, laid out on slates and platters for your end-of-year drinks, afterworks, openings and product launches. We deliver, we set up, you host.

The right format

Not just drinks,
not a seated dinner.

A cocktail reception is the most flexible way to bring people together: everyone stays on their feet, circulates, talks, and eats with their hands without ever sitting down. Everything rests on two things — the variety of the bites and getting the quantities right.

It is the format we serve most often for end-of-year drinks, afterworks, private views, general assemblies, award ceremonies, openings and private receptions, in Ixelles and across Brussels.

The selection

Three families of bites,
the same care

The proposal is put together with you: the balance of cold and warm, how much sweet, whether to add a build-your-own bar.

  • Verrines and individual cups
  • Aperitif bowls: hummus, cubes of cheese and charcuterie
  • Presented on slates and wooden boards

The warm bites

What turns drinks
into a real meal.

A few warm pieces are enough to turn a drink into a genuine meal — and they are what actually fills your guests up when the reception replaces dinner.

  • Truffle croques and gratinated pieces
  • Puff-pastry bites served from the tray
  • Cheese fritters in individual trays
  • Skewers and warm mini portions
  • Tray service available as an option

Sweet and drinks

The end of the evening
matters as much as the start.

A sweet selection laid out at the end of the reception provides a clear full stop — and lets your guests leave on a good impression.

  • Petits fours and sweet bites
  • Fresh fruit and fruit salads
  • Wines, soft drinks and alcohol-free cocktails on request
  • Build-your-own bars as an option: poke, mezze, charcuterie

The quantities

How many bites
per person?

This is the question that decides whether the evening works, and there is no single answer. An hour of drinks before dinner at a restaurant is nothing like a reception that replaces the evening meal.

We calibrate the quantities with you and then set them out in writing in the quote — number of pieces per person and the make-up of each platter. What we take into account:

  • The start time and the expected duration
  • Whether a meal comes before or after
  • The profile of the guests and the type of event
  • How many warm bites are in the selection
  • The drinks served alongside

Frequently asked questions

The cocktail reception, in practice

What is the difference between a cocktail reception and a walking dinner?

A cocktail reception is a succession of bites laid out on slates and platters: your guests help themselves freely, all evening long. A walking dinner is built like a meal, in sequences served one after another — bites, then individual portions, then desserts. For the same number of guests, the walking dinner genuinely replaces dinner.

How many pieces per person should I plan for?

It depends on the start time, how long the reception runs and whether a meal follows. We calibrate the quantities with you and set them out in writing in the quote.

Do you provide service on site?

The basic service covers delivery, setting up and collecting the equipment. Waiting staff during the reception is available as an option: mention it in your enquiry so we can price it.

Do you supply the drinks?

Yes, on request: wines, soft drinks and alcohol-free cocktails can be included in the proposal. You can also keep the drinks on your side and entrust us with the food alone.

Do you deliver to private homes as well as companies?

Yes. Offices, meeting rooms, hired reception venues or private homes: we deliver and set up throughout the Brussels Region, as well as in Walloon Brabant and Flemish Brabant.

Do you offer vegetarian or gluten-free options?

Yes, on request. Tell us about allergies and special diets when you ask for the quote so we can take them into account when composing the platters.
