Walking dinner

Walking dinner
in Brussels.

A standing dinner served in several sequences: welcome bites, individual portions, desserts. Your guests circulate, talk and eat without ever sitting down — or interrupting the evening.

The principle

A real meal,
with no seating plan.

A walking dinner replaces the seated dinner without its constraints. No seating to negotiate, no plated service, no room blocked by tables: the meal arrives in sequences, in individual portions designed to be eaten with one hand.

It is the format to choose when the point of the evening is for people to talk to each other — a corporate cocktail, a launch, networking after a conference — or when the venue simply cannot host a classic dinner.

How it unfolds

Three sequences,
served one after another

The number of sequences and their content are set with you, based on the start time and the length of the evening.

The bites
that open the evening.

While your guests arrive and greet each other, cold and warm bites circulate on trays or wait on the slates. Nobody waits, nobody queues.

  • Cheese fritters served in individual trays
  • Burrata, prosciutto, rocket and balsamic cream
  • Composed salads in individual portions

The finale

The sweet course marks
the end of the evening.

The last sequence is as practical as it is indulgent: it tells your guests the evening is drawing to a close without anyone having to say so.

What a walking dinner
changes for you.

Choosing the format is not only a culinary question: it decides the mood of the evening and the way your guests meet each other.

  • Your guests move around and talk instead of sitting next to the same person all night
  • No seating plan to manage
  • Speeches and award moments slot in between two sequences
  • The room stays open and usable

Frequently asked questions

The walking dinner, in practice

What is the difference between a walking dinner and a buffet?

At a buffet, your guests queue and serve themselves, often only once. In a walking dinner, the sequences arrive one after another in individual portions: nobody waits, the room stays clear and the meal paces the whole evening.

Do we need tables and chairs?

No. A few standing tables and some surfaces to put glasses down are enough. That is precisely the point of the format: it fits a reception room, a lobby, an office floor or an unusual space where a seated dinner would be impossible.

How many sequences should we plan?

It depends on how long the evening runs and when it starts. We decide the number of sequences and their order together, then set them out in the quote along with the quantities per person.

Is waiting service included?

The basic service covers delivery, setting up and collecting the equipment. Since a walking dinner is served in sequences, waiting staff often makes sense: it is priced as an option in your quote.

For how many guests?

We cater events from 15 to 150 guests. For a smaller or larger format, write to us: every request is reviewed personally.

How do you handle diets and allergies?

Vegetarian and gluten-free options on request. Tell us about allergies and special diets when you ask for the quote: in individual portions they are easy to keep separate and to identify during service.
